The power of the state had been weakened, efforts were being made to weaken it from the religious, social and cultural aspects as well. If the leading intellectuals of this movement and their supporters had not woken up the nation sleeping in the slumber of ignorance and indolence at that time, then the Khalsa Panth founded by Kalgidhar Patshah would have become the subject of stories and stories in books, journals and magazines today.

Due to the seriousness of the situation, it was considered necessary to create a strong organization to face the challenges facing the Sikh form and existence in the coming time, to show the right path to the upcoming Sikh race and to strengthen the roots of the sect, which slept in ignorance. Can awaken the nation. S. Thakar Singh Sandhawalia in consultation with Guni Giania and Panth Dardis organized a panthak meeting at Sri Amritsar on 30th July 1873. In this, apart from the heads of Gurdwaras, Guni Giania, Grathians, Udasi and Nirmal sects and other Panth Dardis, Kanwar Bikram Singh Ji, Baba Khem Singh Ji Bedi, Giani Gian Singh Ji, Giani Sardul Singh Ji, Giani Thakar Singh Ji of Kapurthale. , Dr. Charan Singh Ji and other cult personalities joined. Addressing this gathering, Mr. Thakar Singh Sandhavaliye appealed to the congregation about the choices facing the panth in that critical time and appealed in a very painful tone that if we do not save our young generation from this storm, then the Sikh form and existence will be in danger. Even the races will never forgive us for this mistake. Apart from S. Thakar Singh Sandhawalia, Kanwar Bikram Singh ji, Baba Khem Singh ji Bedi and other eminent scholars and scholars also addressed the congregation and emphasized the need to work hard to save Satguran Bakshi Sikhi. After much thought, an organization was established which was named “Sri Guru Singh Sabha Sri Amritsar”.

Bhai Kanh Singh Ji Nabha writes about the Singh Sabha on page 145 of his book ‘Gurshabd Ratnakar Mahan Kosh’ – “Singh Sabha Sangaya – a reforming group of Amritdhari Singha, whose purpose is to remove the evils that have come into the Sikh religion and Sikh society.
